![]() Mammogram recommendations usually depend on whether there is a history of breast cancer in the family. If the patient has a family history, Dr. Kuhne suggests routine screening mammograms when the patient reaches 35 years of age. The patient should continue to have mammograms yearly. If there is no history, the first mammogram should be scheduled by age forty and continue every other year until the patient reaches the age of fifty. Subsequent mammograms should then be scheduled yearly. Abnormal breast examinations may require a mammogram at any age. |
